Because I have worked in supervisory positions where sometimes, we are fighting for employees and their rights, but ofcourse are not allowed to disclose the classified information until everything is formally announced. So this is a friendly reminder that you shouldn't trust gossip or magazine articles because they rarely have the entire story. Many times your supervisor might be fighting paycuts or layoffs in the works and stopped them from happening with employees being none-the-wiser.
