After the confrontation with Lucas, Mel was visibly shaken. Blake, being the concerned friend he was, offered Mel his room to sleep in for the night. Mel accepted, grateful for the safe haven. Meanwhile, Lilah, who had been drinking heavily, stumbled around the club, barely able to walk. Luke, noticing his friend's state, gently scooped her up and carried her to his room, where she passed out on his bed.
The next morning, Mel woke up in Blake's room, feeling a bit more composed after a good night's sleep. As she got ready for school, she borrowed Blake's hoodie to wear, feeling a sense of comfort and security in his worn clothes. Blake, noticing Mel's unease, offered to drive her to school, and she gratefully accepted.
As they drove to school, Mel gazed out the window, lost in thought. When they arrived at school, Mel noticed a black car parked not far from the entrance. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she wondered if it might be Lucas, watching her again. She quickly pushed the thought aside, telling herself she was just being paranoid. But the image of the black car lingered in her mind, leaving her with a sense of unease.
Cafeteria
As the morning classes went by, Mel found herself looking forward to lunchtime. She met up with the Mariano brothers - Luke, Blake, and William - and they headed to the cafeteria together. While Mel took a seat at a table, the brothers went to grab food for themselves and her.
Just as Mel was about to take a bite of her sandwich, Jude approached her. "Hey, Mel! I'm so glad I caught you. We were assigned a project in class, and I was wondering if you'd like to work on it together?" Mel agreed, and they made plans to study in the library after school.
As Jude turned to head back to his seat, Milly accidentally bumped into him, spilling hot coffee all over Mel's borrowed hoodie. Mel gasped in shock as the scalding liquid soaked through the fabric.
The Mariano brothers quickly sprang into action, helping Mel up from her seat. "Let's get you to the infirmary," Luke suggested, concern etched on his face. Mel nodded, wincing in pain as they made their way to the infirmary.
Once they arrived, Mel carefully removed the hoodie, revealing the tattoo on her back. Unbeknownst to her, Alex, the other spy sent by Lucas, was resting in the infirmary, pretending to be a student. He quickly snapped a photo of Mel's tattoo and sent it to Lucas, along with a video of her undressing.
William, who had been keeping watch, caught a glimpse of Alex's sneaky move and quickly intervened, confiscating Alex's phone. Mel, however, remained oblivious to the danger that had just passed, still shaken by the coffee spill.
Lucas sat in his car outside the school, his eyes fixed on the entrance. He had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, his mind racing with thoughts of Mel and the mysterious connection he felt towards her. When Alex sent him the photo of Mel's tattoo, followed by the video of her undressing, Lucas's eyes widened in shock.
He couldn't believe it. The girl who had saved his life five years ago, the girl with the unique tattoo from Rodrigo was Mel. Lucas's mind reeled as he processed this new information. He had been searching for her for so long and been hoping his suspensions was right and her she is, he best friends sister
Just then, William burst into the infirmary, his face stern. "Mel, we need to talk," he said, his voice low. Mel looked up at him, still shaken from the coffee spill. "What is it?" she asked, her voice trembling. William hesitated before speaking. "There was a guy in here, videoing you when you were changing. But don't worry, we've taken care of him." Mel's eyes widened in horror as she processed William's words. She felt a wave of nausea wash over her, but William's reassuring presence helped calm her down. Little did she know, Lucas was watching her from afar, his eyes fixed on her with an intensity that made her skin crawl.
Later that evening
Later that evening, Mel was getting ready to head to the library with Jude to work on their project. Blake, however, was not thrilled about the idea. "I don't think it's a good idea, Mel," he said, his brow furrowed with concern. "What happened earlier today with that guy taking your pictures... it's not safe." Mel reassured him that she would be fine, and that Jude would be with her. She also asked Blake to keep the incident from her brothers and Lilah, not wanting to worry them.
Blake reluctantly agreed, but not before giving Jude a stern warning. "If anything happens to her, you'll answer to us," he said, his eyes narrowing. Jude nodded, looking a bit intimidated.
As Mel got into Jude's car, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She spotted the same black car that she had seen earlier that morning, still parked in the same spot. She tried to tell Jude, but he just shrugged it off. "It's probably just someone who lives around here," he said, not seeming too concerned.
As Jude's car began to move, Mel noticed that the black car followed suit. She tried to get Jude's attention again, but he was too focused on driving. Mel's heart began to beat faster as she realized that they were being followed. She tried to stay calm, but her mind was racing with worst-case scenarios. Who was following them, and what did they want?
The library
As Mel and Jude worked on their project in the library, the atmosphere was quiet and focused. That was until Lucas walked in, commanding the whole building with his presence. Some girls couldn't help but ogle at him, whispering to each other as he made his way through the aisles.
Mel, oblivious to the sudden commotion, continued typing away on her laptop. That was until Lucas approached her, his eyes fixed intently on hers. Mel didn't realize what was happening until he closed the gap between them, his tall frame looming over her.
Feeling intimidated, Mel tried to hide her fear, but her hands began to tremble slightly. Lucas noticed, a small smirk playing on his lips. "So, we meet again," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I've been looking for you, Mel."
Mel's eyes narrowed, confusion etched on her face. "What do you mean? Why have you been looking for me?" Lucas chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Mel. I know all about your little infiltration of my mansion. And I have to ask, why did you hide yourself from me? You knew how much I've been searching for you."
Mel's expression remained puzzled. "I don't know what you're talking about. I've never been to your mansion, and I certainly didn't infiltrate it." Lucas raised an eyebrow, his eyes searching hers for any sign of deception. But Mel's expression remained genuine, leaving Lucas to wonder if she was truly unaware of their connection.
