Julia's Visit
Mel had been settling into the mansion, trying to adjust to the eerie atmosphere and the constant feeling of being watched. Her brother Miles' visit had been a brief respite from the tension, but even his presence couldn't shake off the sense of unease that lingered in every corner.
As she delved deeper into the mystery of the missing girls, Mel was frustrated to find that she had gotten no leads. She had been poring over the reports, interviewing the staff, and searching every nook and cranny, but every door she opened led to a dead end.
She confided in her best friend, Lilah, about her lack of progress. "I've been trying to find any connection between the girls, but there's nothing," Mel said, exasperated. "It's like they vanished into thin air."
Lilah listened attentively, her expression sympathetic. "Don't worry, Mel. You'll get to the bottom of this. You're one of the most determined people I know."
Just as Mel was about to give up hope, a new development shook things up. On the fourth day of the week, Julia, Lucas' elder sister, arrived at the mansion. Mel was intrigued by Julia's presence, wondering what her role was in the mysterious events unfolding around her.
Meanwhile, a strange occurrence caught Mel's attention. "Natasha," Lucas' favorite toy, had been released from the dark room. Mel's curiosity was piqued; what could be the significance of this toy, and why was it being kept in the dark room?
The Spy
That night, Mel decided to sneak out and explore the dark room. She made her way through the dimly lit corridors, her heart pounding in her chest. As she entered the room, she was met with a sight that made her blood run cold.
The missing girls were being held captive, their organs being harvested in a horrific ritual. Mel's eyes widened in horror as she took in the scene. She knew she had to get out of there, but as she turned to leave, she stumbled upon another girl spying on the scene from afar.
The girl introduced herself as Bella, and Mel soon learned that she had been trying to escape from Damien and his guards. A fierce fight had broken out, and Bella had managed to slip away unnoticed.
As they made their way back to the safety of Mel's room, Bella revealed that she had been working undercover, trying to gather evidence of the sinister activities taking place within the mansion walls.
The next day, Damien reported to Lucas about the infiltration of a spy, disguised as a maid, who had been caught and beheaded. Mel's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Bella's cover had been blown.
But there was more to the story. As it turned out, the "maid" was actually a CIA agent, sent to investigate the mysterious disappearances. Her discovery and subsequent execution sent a chilling message: no one was safe within the mansion walls.
Mel knew that she had to tread carefully, but she was more determined than ever to uncover the truth behind the sinister forces at play.
Last day at Placid mansion
Mel stood before Lucas, her eyes locked on his as she handed him a briefcase filled with money. "I'm returning the money you paid me," she said, her voice firm. "I appreciate your generosity, but I can no longer stay here."
Lucas raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Why is that, June?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
Mel's expression turned somber. "My father passed away," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "I need to go home and take care of my family."
Lucas' expression softened, and he nodded sympathetically. "I'm sorry to hear that, June. You're free to go."
Mel felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had been worried that Lucas would try to stop her, but it seemed he was willing to let her leave peacefully.
As she turned to leave, Mel couldn't help but think of Bella, the CIA agent who had been executed just days before. Bella had become like a sister to Mel, and her death had left a deep scar.
Mel made her way to the door, her heart heavy with grief and her mind reeling with questions. What secrets was Lucas hiding?
The discovery
Just as Mel was about to step out of the mansion, Alex, Lucas' IT expert, approached him. "Lucas, I've found the girl you've been looking for," he said, his voice low and serious.
Mel's ears perked up, and she listened intently as Alex continued. "She's been taken to a psychiatric hospital for therapy, supposedly due to the damage you caused her."
Mel's eyes narrowed. She didn't believe Lucas' story for a second.
Alex continued, "But here's the interesting part - she's also been getting tattoos in Mexico from a famous tattoo artist named Rodrigo to cover up the scar and to be specific it's the tattoo of a shattered glass at her back . And get this, she's now an high school senior."
Mel's mind was racing. What did it all mean? Was this girl a victim, or was there more to her story?
As Mel walked out of the mansion, Julia stepped out of the shadows, her eyes locked on Mel's. "June, or should I say, Mel?" Julia said, her voice low and mysterious.
Mel's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face Julia. "What are you talking about, Julia?" Mel asked, trying to sound calm despite the growing sense of unease.
Julia smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Mel. I know all about you. I know who you really are."
Mel's eyes widened in fear. How did Julia know? What did she know?
Julia's expression turned serious. "But don't worry, Mel. Your secret is safe with me. I owe you one, after all."
Mel's confusion deepened. What debt could Julia possibly owe her?
Julia's smile returned. "Let's just say that I'm in your debt, Mel. And I always pay my debts."
With that, Julia turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Mel feeling frightened and confused. What did Julia know? And what did she mean by her debt to Mel?
Delilah's mansion
Lilah's concern
As Mel arrived at Lilah's mansion, she was greeted by her friend's warm smile. But as soon as they stepped into the privacy of Lilah's living room, the smile faded, replaced by a look of deep concern.
"Mel, I'm so glad you're safe," Lilah said, her voice laced with worry. "I've been on edge since I got your last report."
Mel nodded, understanding Lilah's concern. "I know, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you."
Lilah's eyes narrowed. "Worry me? Mel, you're the one who's been putting yourself in harm's way. That CIA agent who was executed... what if they find out you were involved?"
Mel took a deep breath, trying to reassure Lilah. "I was careful, Lilah. I made sure to cover my tracks."What she did not tell Lilah I'd how she was unconscious for two weeks.Who needs that detail's anyway.
But Lilah's expression remained skeptical. "Mel, you're not a spy. You're a my best friend. You can't take risks like this."
Mel's jaw set in determination. "I have to, Lilah. I have to expose the truth. Those girls who were kidnapped... they deserve justice."
Remember you put me up to this and I needed to get away from my parents as well as being productive during my summer
Lilah's face softened, and she reached out to take Mel's hand. "I know, Mel. And I'll support you every step of the way. But please, be careful. I don't want to lose you."
Mel smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude towards her friend. "I will, Lilah. I promise."
