Hunter’s POV:
“We shouldn’t…” I hear her voice shake and I know she’s fighting herself. Even with the small distance between us, I can feel sparks of electricity passing between us. She fights as hard as she can, but I know it won’t last.
“I know you feel it too,” I whisper and she shivers. Thanks to our shared connection, I can see the disturbance my words cause, like ripples in calm water. When I look at her again, she’s tilted her head down, so most of her face is covered by her dark hair. The small portion of her face I can see is shaded in shadow, but I can still see how she’s caught her bottom lip between her teeth and my control shakes. “Why fight it?”
She releases a shaky sigh. “Because I’m afraid,” She replies honestly. Looking up at me through her lashes, my he……
