Chapter 30: An Outlet for the Pain

Rosalia’s POV:

I turn my head slightly and can see that Hunter has gone as white as a sheet. “What’s wrong?” I repeat, but he shakes his head slightly and I frown. Was I missing something? Or was that some sort of warning to me? Either way, I turn to ask him my questions when he speaks first, “What were you saying? About Ash?” He seems anxious, and I’m curious to know why, so I decide to answer his question.

“I was saying that he still tortured me, but he seemed to be more careful about it after that first time. I was still tortured and abused over small mistakes, but he seemed to reserve the most excruciating torture for what he called ‘special occasions’ but would never reveal what that meant. In over a year of being his property, I never fully understood what that meant.……
