No Mystery Lady.
“Come on, let’s go in, darling,” my dad said as he pressed the button on his car key, the soft beep of the locks echoing in the cool night air.
I let out a small chuckle, watching as he extended his arm toward me...offering it the same way he had done when we stepped out together. It was such an old-fashioned yet endearing gesture, something that reminded me of childhood moments when he’d lead me into grand events with his protective presence beside me.
For a second, I hesitated, staring at his outstretched hand. There was something different about tonight, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. My father was acting… off....not in a bad way, but in a way that made me curious.
Still, I slid my hand into his and smiled. “Alright,” I murmured.
