Rocking little Eleanor in my arms, I tend to Antony’s grievances, which all surround the siblings’ ineptitude in listening to anyone but themselves, “First, the sister sacrificed herself to set me free, and then the brother kicked me back home, even when I insisted on accompanying him.”
“If anything, their disregard towards your wishes was inspired by their solicitude,” I say, caressing the little red cheeks of my daughter. “They both love you too much to sacrifice you.”
