The accuracy of Celie’s premonition of the ambush can be justified by her heightened fear of running into Cillian again. That’s what I told myself when I first learned about it coming true. 

“Since she didn't wish to get taken to the brute Cillian at all costs, she could perceive the danger that would’ve awaited us in following the usual route to Leaden valley,” I say, unravelling the mystifying forces responsible for the realisation of her supposition. 

Still gawping at me with eyes brimming with suspicion, my old man further argues, “You’re making stuff up and fooling yourself to believe something as improbable as this.
