~EGON’S POV~
Negligence or obduracy, whatever may have been the cause, the outcome remains the same. Harriet will never walk on her legs again, which she hasn’t been apprised of yet, allowing her to rejoice in our company.
“When are we leaving?” questions Harriet without blinking, which conveys the urgency for a quick response.
“As soon as you’ve recovered,” I promise.
From being allowed to finally contemplate returning home, which must’ve been strictly prohibited before, she smiles and expresses her desire to roam freely in the woods of Leaden valley that she frequented as a child. Because of this, an awkward silence pertains in the room, as we all seem to deliberate over the unlikeliness of what is being discussed, which doesn’t go unnoticed.
