A week passes, and nothing looks better for the Vanderbilt family. Not even Beverly's father can save the company. They try to convince several of their old friends to join them again. They promised to bring back the old production, but nothing worked. Nobody wants to work with them, and everybody has already signed with Chris. They have no other option but to declare bankruptcy. The people they lay off all go to Chris' company looking for a job. Chris has got so much work that he needs to expand. He buys the Vanderbilt factories as they are quicker to increase production.
