Damian
f**k! Move Damian! I blinked, then swiftly moved as Darren launched himself at me. I sidestepped, sweeping his feet and knocking him down. I read the guards’ movements through their thoughts and effortlessly moved around their feeble attempts at assault.
‘Focus, focus, focus...’ Huh? What in the world? I took a hit to my jaw by Darren, flinging me back. I caught myself on the wall, barely dodging Darren’s punch that went straight through the concrete. I tried reading his movements but kept getting one-worded responses. Damn, he must know what I can do. Oh well, gotta rely on my natural killing instincts. I grinned devilishly at that thought as I grabbed Darren’s incoming fist.
I twisted it, then sent a kick to his abdomen as he flew through the wall in the back into the storage room. Oops! I chuckled as I grabbed the guard’s right hook, grabbing it and snapping his wrist, sending him reeling to the floor. Another guard reached into his jacket, fumbling, then pulling a gun out.
“Oh, come on! You work for...” I was cut off as a bullet hit me. It burned as it slowly made its way through my body, causing me to fall to my knees. THE f**k!?
“You didn’t think I wouldn’t arm my guards with iron, did you?” Darran hauled himself out of the hole in the wall as I groaned on my knees. My vision started to focus on the blood on the floor.
The guard pointed his gun at my head as Darren brushed himself off, walking towards me. Damn. Sorry Raz, gotta do what I gotta do. I reached up, grabbing the gun and barely moving my head out of the way of the bullet. I sunk my teeth into the man’s arm as I started sucking him.
YUCK! He’s not human, more like a ghoul? I spat as I felt more energy zap out of me, pulling myself up as Darren pulled his own weapon out, unloading on me. I pulled his guard in front of me, using him as a shield, an iron bullet penetrating his heart.
I tossed his lifeless body to the side as I dipped to the left, coming up to Darren’s side and landing a hit on his face. He opened his mouth, grabbing my hand in his teeth and ripping my fingers clean off.
“DAMN IT!” I hissed as I hopped backward, my hand steaming as my limbs slowly grew back. I can’t keep this up on the supply I’m on. My vision started to pulsate as red formed in the corners. f**k, my control is slipping...
“You’ve been a pain in my ass, Dutch Boy!” Darren roared as he took aim.
“WHAT!? How did you get Dutch from my accent?! RACIST!” I hissed as I dropped to the floor on all fours like an animal, dodging his slugs as I swiftly leapt at him, sinking my teeth into his neck, ripping it out, and knocking him over. I started clawing at him, trying to get to his heart. He punched a hole through my torso, lifting me off him and throwing me into the wall. I slid down next to the redhead, who was cowering in the corner.
I cursed as I stuffed my intestines back inside me, my hole slowly sealing shut as I stood up.
“Mmm, you heal quite slowly. So, you don’t feed directly from the source...” He grinned as he rolled his shoulders. I took my stance, vision becoming blurry as I gestured for him to bring it on.
“I don’t need to suck people dry to kick your pathetic t**t to hell!” I grinned from ear to ear as he snorted like a bull, charging me. I flipped over him, grabbing his head on the way and slamming him into the ground. I yanked his head up, snapping it in one fluid motion. His body went limp.
f**k! I only have a few minutes to secure him, so we can interrogate him. I took his gun; the clip was empty. Ugh! I patted him down, finding a clip in his pocket and pulling it out. I reloaded the gun, then unloaded the whole clip into his body. Standing there, the smell of blood wafted into my nose.
I slowly turned my head towards the girl as she sobbed. Her hand was cut deep, her body oozing blood from the bite marks he left on her. My eyes darkened as I dropped to the floor. A growl emitted from my chest as my vision locked on her.
‘No! I don’t wanna die!’ her thought hit me as I climbed on her.
“Oh, Poppy, I can’t kill you mic rosu...” I rubbed my face on her as she whined. I ran my tongue up her neck, my fangs popping out.
“I’m not Poppy! I’m Claire!” Her voice snapped me out of my trance. I shoved away from her, stumbling backward. No... NO! I gripped my head as I ground my teeth. All the thoughts hit me at once, the whispers were screams as the weight of their subconscious slammed into me.
“DAMNIAN!” A familiar voice rang through my ears. I opened my eyes as my vision was pure red. I need blood and I need it now. I clawed at my throat to not go for the woman sitting in the corner as Raz ran up to me. MY body contorted as I hissed at him.
“Damn it, Damian! What did I say?!” He flung his bag down, pulling out a blood pack and shoving it into my mouth. I flung it from my mouth as I rolled over, lapping the blood on the floor. It was fresher. It was what my body wanted. My eyes darted back to the girl in the corner.
“DAMIAN!” Raz grabbed me in an armlock as I struggled against him. I closed my eyes, trying to focus on anything else other than the bloodbath I was surrounded by. Poppy’s smile drifted into my mind as her kiss from tonight ran through me. I fell to my knees as Raz released me. I reached out, grabbing the pack I tossed and shoved my teeth into the rest of it, forcing myself to choke down the blood.
I sat there sucking on it like a scolded child as Raz cussed me out, tying up Darren and flinging him over his shoulder. I kept my eyes glued to the trembling woman in the corner as I choked down the blood bag.
“Damian, head out. NOW!” Raz hissed at me as my eye twitched. I stood up, throwing the bag as I turned on my heel.
“I’ll meet you at home. GO STRAIGHT THERE DAMIAN!” He ordered as I shrugged. No one stopped me from leaving. Everyone was busy doing their own thing, and Raz already put the guards in a trance. I stepped into the cool air as a snowflake dropped out of the sky. I caught it in my hand, my body temperature not melting it. I sighed as I headed home.
I was there in no time, sitting on the wall outside of my house. My thirst was not gone. If anything, it was worse. The only thing keeping me hanging on is the images of Poppy that popped into my head. I don’t know if it’s the bond Raz keeps talking about, but the need for her was insane. I know I need to bite her and feed her my blood… but I can’t bring myself to do it until I know she knows what I am. I still have a month and a half before I go feral, right?
Would I go after her after I go feral? Will I kill her? I sighed, leaning forward, staring at the ground as Raz waltzed up with Darren flung over his shoulder.
“Basements still set up for interrogation?” Raz asked as he patted Darren’s thigh. He let out a grunt as Raz jumped.
“Yes, iron chains are down there along with gloves, so you don’t burn yourself.” I leaned back, pulling out a cigarette and putting it in my mouth. They were crumpled all to hell, but it was better than nothing.
“Once he’s tied up, we’re going to figure out how to get you, your lady.” Raz patted my calf as he walked by. I lit my cigarette, staring up at the snow that slowly drifted down. I pulled my phone out, grunting as the screen was cracked. I pulled up Poppy’s number, shooting her a Christmas text from my actual phone number, not the number alternating app.
“I’m sorry I left so abruptly. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.” - Damian Locke
