It’s been years since Emerick Brentwood was last seen or heard from at Black Moon, his home pack, the place where he was born and raised and his parents and six siblings still remain. His own mother was the Alpha in charge of sending him away to a strict warlock reform school before finally giving up and banishing him from the pack entirely a few years back. Now it’s his older sister in charge at Black Moon, which is a fact that he’s neither ignorant nor happy about.

Becoming their next Alpha was supposed to be his birthright as the oldest male child of the previous Alpha. Black Moon is the only North American werewolf pack to ever allow the rule of a female Alpha, and in his mind, they have no right to change the ancient werewolf traditions like that. His mother was special, but his sister is just an ordinary Alpha female – better suited to be some Alpha’s Luna than to lead in her own right.

But Emerick has a plan and some new friends who will help him execute it, and it won’t cost him a dime because he has something far more valuable to offer than money: his twin sister Anna Jade, a rare hybrid wolf. She’s part-witch, but that’s not what makes her special. Her precious pure white wolf is truly one-of-a-kind, a natural spellcaster even in wolf form, and she’s drawn the interest of some influential people who have offered to help him win back his birthright. All he must do now is prove himself, and to do that he must risk it all to free the only person who stands a chance at defeating his powerful family, in hopes of trading her life for his sister’s.

When their dark past comes back to haunt the people of Black Moon, which twin will prevail?

Prologue

Last night, I dreamt of Emerick again.

It’s been years since anyone has seen or heard from my twin, not since he somehow managed to escape the prison-like reform school where my parents sent him in hopes that it might help tame the natural darkness within him. In my dream, his dark, luxurious curls were still buzzed close to ……
