*Chapter 1: The Plan Goes Wrong*Shahrukh and his cousins were excited. A midnight picnic trip to Naran Kaghan. The mountains, the cold air, the road trips, it was all planned. But destiny had other plans. On the way, they got stuck in heavy traffic. Everyone was frustrated and late. That’s when one cousin pointed at a broken, unpaved road on the map. "Bro, this is a shortcut. We’ll reach faster," he said. Shahrukh, being the sensible one, hesitated. But the others convinced him. Against his gut feeling, he turned the SUV onto the dark, empty kacha road. *Chapter 2: The Road to Nowhere*Within minutes, everything changed. The main road’s lights were gone. Now there was only darkness. No houses. No shops. No people. Just trees and silence. It was so quiet that the sound of their own car felt loud. Shahrukh looked to his left. A graveyard. Broken graves, tilted stones. He looked to his right. A shamshan ghat, with faint smoke still rising. The cousins went silent. The mood had changed from fun to fear. *Chapter 3: The Old Man*A few minutes later, headlights caught something on the side of the road. An old man. He wore dirty, torn clothes. A cloth was tied around his head. In his hand, a wooden stick. He was standing alone in the middle of nowhere. And he was smiling. Not a normal smile. A wide, creepy, welcoming smile, as if he was waiting for them. "Stop the car," one cousin said. "Let’s help him. Where does he want to go?" But Shahrukh gripped the steering wheel tighter. "What would an old man be doing in a place like this?" he said. "Drive." He pressed the accelerator and sped past him. In the rearview mirror, the old man was still smiling. *Chapter 4: The Tall Funeral*They didn’t get far. Up ahead, the road was blocked. A funeral procession. But this was no normal funeral. The men carrying the coffin were not normal men. They were extremely tall, thin, with distorted faces. Inhuman. All of them had stopped and were now staring directly at Shahrukh’s car. And all of them were smiling. One cousin couldn’t take it. He let out a blood-curdling scream and fainted on the spot. Shahrukh didn’t look back. He swerved and drove faster, his hands shaking on the wheel. *Chapter 5: The Burst Tire*Then it happened. BANG. The tire burst. Now they were stranded on that cursed road, in the middle of the night, in the cold. Shahrukh took a deep breath and chose one cousin to help him. They got out, sweating despite the cold, and started changing the tire with a flashlight. The forest was black all around them. That’s when they heard it. A scream. A long, inhuman scream from the trees. Shahrukh’s blood ran cold. He worked faster. The tire was finally changed. They jumped back into the car and locked the doors. Before they could drive, THUD. Something slammed into the back of the car with so much force that the whole SUV shook. Voices started echoing around them. "Roko… Roko… Stop… Stop…" Shahrukh didn’t stop. He floored it. *Chapter 6: The Police*Terrified and out of breath, they finally reached the main road. A police jeep was parked there. They stopped and told the officer everything. The shortcut. The graveyard. The old man. The tall funeral. The hand. The police officer listened in silence. Then he looked at them and said only one line: "This road is like that." Shahrukh had no other words. He just nodded. It was a mistake. A mistake they would never make again. *The End.*
