ELENA’S POV
“But why can’t I go outside like other wolves father?” I asked my father as I watched some wolves my age running around and playing outside through my bedroom window

“Because you are a princess and it’s not safe for a princess outside,” my father said

“But I want to go outside I promise I will be careful father I will be safe” I begged

“No Elena, you are safer in here and you can’t go outside,” my father said and then left me to continue envying the little wolves that were playing outside.

“But I want to make friends” I mumbled after he banged the door.

At seven years old, I had never really been outside. I had only been outside when the moon was said to be so close if you could fly you could touch it and when it was a fiery red. My father said that the day was a special day for our pack because it was the day I was born. I never understood how it could have been a special day if it was the day that my mother died. Some of the workers around the palace said her death was caused by me, they said I killed her.
