I stood there frozen like a deer in the headlights and cursed Dominic for leaving me alone with Maddox. The way he was looking at me, his blue eyes flashing at me, I knew he was up to something.
A low growl caught my attention, looking down I found Mad-the kitten, a few feet away from me, growling at Maddox. Well, I'm not alone, after all, if you count Mad. But I doubt he would be much help with his namesake.
I wanted to run inside the house but a part of me wanted to go to him and check him for injuries. The way these two had knocked each other doen, I wouldn't be surprised if few of their ribs were broken. I tried to catch Mad's attention, but the damn kitten was busy growling at him.
“Come here.” Maddox wigged his fingers for me to come closer to him. When I just……
