“So, what should we name him?”
“Mad.”
“Shut up! It’s suits him.” Dominic laughed, directing a smug smile in Maddox's direction.
“It actually compliments his character.” Brandon drawled from beside me, sounding a little grumpy himself.
“Boys, stop it.” Mrs. Carter smiled at me and asked, “Why Mad?”
I could feel his arctic eyes on me as I fidgeted and tried to explain why I had just blurted out a name for a kitten that had been for him. “Because, it m-makes me feel like h-he i-is mine-mine.”
“He is. Isn’t he, Maddox?” She turned to look at her youngest son, only to get ignored when he literally stomped away and disappeared around the stairs.
“Well, let’s go.” Dominic tugged me down the hallway.
“Where are we going?” I asked, following him and cuddling Mad to my chest. Oh god, ……
