Thank you for reading. --Meta disclaimer-- The idea for the Leash comes partially from the so-called 'zombie parasite', which has the ability to take over the bodies of ants. The parasite in this case is a fungus, which makes it fundamentally different from a virus or disease, but I thought it was an interesting way to physically create the mental sss that is so often formed through some 'spiritual contract' with familiars in these stories. That doesn't mean my solution is actually, physically viable, it's just another path to the same result.
