I couldn't believe that. Not only Elisa but Eddie left right before Christmas. The entire town was talking about what had happened, and the gossip mill claimed I caused Elisa to get shot.

I wanted Noah to stop Leon from corrupting my daughter, but somehow, Elisa was getting shot instead of him. Grams, who has always been kind to me, now gave me a side glare. Erick was not speaking to me, and I felt my entire life crumble around me.
