After what Thomas said and Leon's demeanor, I knew we must have a conversation. The way we will handle things will not only be determined by Thomas and me, but it must be between Leon and me because I hate how things are going.
We landed safely, and a car was waiting to pick us up. "Mr. Vedder," the driver said, welcoming us. We all climbed into the SUV.
"Can you drop me at the Inn?" Thomas said, and Leon nodded.
"Just check in and drop your bags. We will go straight to the hospital," Leon said, and Thomas nodded. I looked at Thomas and gave him a ´sorry´ look. Leon was being particularly harsh on him—rude even.
He shrugged, and I nodded. We had a silent conversation in which he told me everything would work out. He had known Leon for years, and he was his friend. He must know how……
