Since Julie’s chairs and couches had been stolen, they sat on the floor with their backs to the wall. “I want you to be able to trust me without a doubt,” Thompson began, “so I will tell you everything. Then, if you ever are in doubt, you will come to me and ask me about it instead of running away and shutting me out in the way that you did.
“In order to do that, I need to take you to my home. Do you think you can trust me at least that far? You can ask Marta to come over and wait for the police. Because she was the one who discovered that your house was broken in to, she is the one that they will want to speak with anyways.”
Julie nodded and said, “I will go with you but, if your motives prove to be anything other than sincere, I will destroy you on every soc……
