When Jasmine told Andrew about her Oscar nomination, he looked incredulous. In fact, he couldn’t believe his ears. “How did you get nominated?” he wondered.
“Andrew,” Jasmine whined, “why does it sound like you don’t believe in me? This is good news. If I win, we could announce our engagement at the awards show!”
“I am fine with that,” Andrew replied perfunctorily. At the moment, he was very confused and, more than anything, what he wanted to do was to call Julie. He knew that, when Julie heard the news, she would be disappointed because, if anyone deserved the Oscar, it was Julie – not Jasmine.
“I can’t wait to announce our wedding to everyone,” Jasmine continued smugly as if she had already won the award; she was that confident. All she could think ab……
