Aurora was more than a little surprised when Sherry Young presented her with a love letter. She looked up and met the girl’s eyes and said, “Don’t mess around me. Why would anyone send a love letter to someone like me?”
It was true that, although Aurora was beautiful, she usually dressed as though she were not. In the baggy clothes she wore and the big ugly curlers she kept in her hair, she looked more like an old married woman or a street person than a young college student. In school, she was actually well known for her ugly appearance, so it was hard to figure out who might have sent her a love letter.
