Chapter 39: Dining Room Etiquette Pt 2.

Everyone seems to be bashing Xavier a lot. Please keep in mind the chapters have mainly been from Rose's POV. There is only ONE word to describe Xavier:CONFLICTED. He's attracted but confused. It takes time to actually develop FEELINGS. It's not a switch one turns on or off. He IS developing SOME feelings for her but he's sill in denial. Guys, read between the lines. Small things he does for Rose, (like buying her coffee from her favorite coffee shop, worrying if she's comfortable in his house, putting her safety FIRST) it's because on a subconscious level, he cares about her. He doesn't love her, not yet, but he does CAREs. He watches her, observes her. We'll get an insight into his POV soon. The thing going on in his mind right now is 'she's hot, i'm attracted to her but i can't be with her.' Give him time. This chapter was extremely pivotal because he chose her over Alyssa, in a sense. More on that next chapter.
