Then the excuses from the government came in: Some blamed the old a*******d-regime. Some bright sparks blamed the people working in the mines. Several said it was an act of God.

In their stupidity a few demanded explanations from the universities, forming committees to discover the reasons, except, they knew what it was. It was just another delaying tactic; it would have been a laughable matter if not for the seriousness of the situation.

Mine owners merely disappeared overnight. Insurance companies were crippled and left, not willing to deal with the mess. The government coffers were empty; finally, the greed and corruption caught up with the taxman and no one took responsibility.

No maintenance or rebuilding could be done nothing could be salvaged from the c*****e that was once the thriving……
