Ivy:
I woke to a crackling fire and the smell of bourbon.
"Welcome back." Arbor's voice was still quiet but didn't seem miles away anymore.
I sat up, stretching my aching body. The cuts on my arms had healed. There wasn't even a scar left to show proof of the day I had.
"You're very impressive." I scowled at him.
"I almost died." I hissed.
"But you did not. Besides, it took me a thousand years to learn what to do what you did today." a sly smirk spread across his face. I was livid.
I snatched the bottle he held in his hand and forced my body to cooperate long enough to take me to the nearest door. I stepped onto the top of the tree that he still swears is his mother. The darkness of this place was lit with more stars than I had ever seen in my life. No moon coul……
