😳 u Chapter 25 is where Riven stops moving through Hale’s memory and begins shaping the structure of memory itself. The shift is from witnessing to authorship: he must choose what survives, knowing truth is not preservation but definition. The emotional frame widens from individual to collective. Hale’s sacrifice is no longer a solitary act — the engineer, Command interference, the split, the danger all remain because erasing any part would erase someone’s responsibility. Riven refuses Hale’s loneliness; “No one disappears alone” becomes the core of the series. Revision also has a cost: keeping truth requires removing lies. The faceless Command figure fades not from punishment, but because the new anchor truth has no place for him. Memory here behaves ethically, not archivally.
