Kellan stared at me for a moment too long, he was probably trying to process what I had just said, I knew it didn’t make any sense to him.
“Are you sure he’s the one?” He asked, and broke eye contact, he stared out of the car window. “That man is Declan’s father, how could he be the one you called father and dropped you off at the orphanage.”
I tapped his arm, and made him look at me. I showed him the text on my phone. “What if he isn’t my father?”
He nodded, trying to give in to the possibilities of that.
But why would I call him papa?
At that age, I didn’t think I could have lied about it or called someone else a name that wasn’t benefiting him.
I couldn’t have lied when I called him that.
“Does he recognize you?” Kellan asked.
I shook my head.
I didn’t know if he did and was pretending not ……
