Ruby
In the past few weeks has been uneventful. I told Robin about my date with Marcus. I told her about where we went and that I kissed him. She was thrilled about that. I also told her about Orlando and that I've forgiven him which she wasn't happy about it and thought that I've should of let him sweat a little longer but I disagreed and told her that he was really sorry. Orlando is now back to taking me to school and dropping me home. Marcus offered to take me home a few times but I said that Orlando is back to taking me home and picking me up which he wasn't happy about it but he didn't argue about it either.
Speaking of which, me and Marcus have been on a few more dates during the weeks and made out a few times too but we didn't go all the way though. Marcus said that he wanted to wait and wanted to be special but I told him it doesn't has to be special. He refused and insisted that we waited so I respected his wishes and wait until he's ready.
Orlando has been on his best behaviour and didn't cause any fights. He even tried not to insult Robin whenever they bump into each other however, Robin doesn't trust his good boy act. I told her he's trying to be a good friend and that she should give him a chance before she judge him. She says she'll try but made no promises which I told her that ok as long as she tries to be civil about it.
Today I'm at lunch with Robin and her cheerleaders friends at the table. They were talking about what their routine would for the football games at half time later on, after school and how to make the fans stay entertained during that time. I wasn't that fuss but I'll be going to the game cause Marcus will be there. I forgot to mention that during the past few weeks, Marcus made it into the football team. The coach was impressed with his skills so you could say that he made it into the team with ease. I watched him at every football practice for support and I can honestly say that he's great on the football field. I could tell he take it seriously and see that he's enjoys it too.
Everyone on the team seems to like him which I'm not surprised cause he is a likeable guy and gets on with everyone except Orlando. Those two never seems to get along. Everytime they see each other, they both ready to fight. Orlando doesn't like me hanging around Marcus and Marcus doesn't like how Orlando treats me and think that I should have a break from him. So it's hard to separate them everytime Orlando drops me off and picks me up but luckily I have Robin by my side. She's always there to help me separate them.
"So Ruby, are you looking forward to see the game?" one of the cheerleaders asked. Her name was Emerald. She has wavy, long, redish, orange hair, pale skin with freckles over her cheeks and has dark green eyes. She one of he cheerleaders who was pleasant to be around. She always joked about that her parents name her Emerald causemof her eyes. I was going to respond when Robin beat me to it.
"Oh she definitely looking forward to the game. Especially, seeing a certain one who will be playing" Robin teased. I glared at her.
"Oh! Who's the lucky guy?" One of the cheerleaders said curious.
"Yeah! Who's the guy?"
"Tell us tell us"
I could lie and say that it some guy but that's not my nature so it's best to be honest.
"It's Marcus" I said honestly. Everyone at the table stopped talking and stared at me in surprise. They were shell-shocked.
"What? Why everyone looking at me like I'm naked and covered in jelly?" I asked and starting to feel uncomfortable of them staring at me.
"MARCUS " everyone at the table gasped in unison.
"You're seeing Marcus?"
"The new guy from the team?"
"Yes, I'm seeing Marcus" I said simply. Again everyone just stared at me.
"Could you guys please stop staring at me like that" I snapped annoyed.
"How long have you been seeing him?"
"A few weeks"
"A few weeks?" The whole squad said unison.
"Yes" I said bluntly. Why are they so surprised by that?
"Wow. You kept that quiet, Ruby" one of them stated simply.
"Yeah! How comes you didn't tell us?" One of the girls said disapprovaling.
"I don't see the need too" I said frankly.
"Well as you always hanging out with us at lunch, I thought we're close enough to share some of your love life with us" one of them said annoyed with a hint of bitterness in her voice. Her name was Jamie. She had dark chestnut hair that goes down to her shoulders. She had olive skin and had dark brown eyes. Jamie is one of your typical mean girl and we don't get along well.
"I don't have to share my love life just because we hung out at lunch" I stated plainly.
"Well it only fair that you got to share something from your personal life. We don't know much about you" she stated simply. The way she said it like it's reasonably but believe it or not I don't like sharing my personal life to anyone. Only people who knows about my personal life are Orlando and Robin and now Marcus. Don't get me wrong, I got nothing to hide or am I ashamed but I just don't see the point of sharing just the sake of it.
"So you're saying that cause I hang out with you at lunch, I should share my personal life with you?" I asked skeptical.
"Yes" Jamie said bluntly.
"Ruby doesn't have to share if she doesn't want too if it makes her uncomfortable" Robin said coming into my defense which I'm greatful for. She's a good friend.
"She doesn't have to share everything about her life. I'm just saying that she could share something about herself" Jamie said defensively.
"I mean all we know that she's lives with her dad and she's adoptive" she added simply.
"The way you say that it's a bad thing that I live with my dad and I'm adoptive" I said getting offensive.
"I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying that maybe you're not open cause you're not use to hanging around with girls all the time" she said simply. What the f**k?
"What you mean by that? Elaborate" I said seriously and slowly cause I really want to know what she meant by what she said. I could see that everyone round the table was getting uncomfortable and looking at me and Jamie nervously.
"I think everyone should calm down now before anyone say something that they will regret" Emerald said calmly and collective, trying to defuse the situation.
"Yes, I think you two need to take a breath before things escalate" Robin agreed but I'm not going to let it go until Jamie explain what she meant.
"I'm not going to let it go until she explain herself" I stated coldly.
"Well you always hang out that Orlando guy. You guys are joined to the hip if you're not with Robin" Jamie said bitterly.
"He's my best friend. His family to me. I didn't know that's a crime to hang out with him" I snapped loudly than I expected to be.
"No it's not a crime but I find it weird that you guys are too close with one another. It looks like you guys more of a couple than best friends" she stated plainly. There was venom laced in her voice.
"He's just protective and looking out for me" I gritted. This b***h is getting on my nerves by the minute.
"Are you sure you guys are just friends? Are you sure there's more to it?" Jamie asked mockingly. What on earth is she situating? Is she saying that me and Orlando are a couple?
"I'm not his type. He's gay" I said simply.
"Are you sure he's gay? Cause he doesn't seen like it by the way he act around you"
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"It means that he act more of a protective boyfriend than a friend" she said plainly.
"No he doesn't. He's like a protective brother, that is it. Nothing more, nothing less" I disagreed. Why does people keep saying that? He just over protective big brother.
"Oh come on, Ruby, you're not stupid. I seen the way he treats you. He's all prosessive and controlling. That's not how a friend treat you" Jamie said. She was starting to get frustrated and looking at me like I'm delusional.
"He's not prosessive. He's protective" I said fuming.
"Are you really in denial? A blind person can see that he's controlling. He's always yelling at you for your attention and drags you to his car" she said iceily.
"Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about" I snapped.
"And not to mention that he scares off every guy that looks your way. For crying out loud, everyone in school seen him beat up few guys to a pulp and I think one time Orlando beat up a guy so badly that he went into a coma" she said frustrated. Ok she has a point there. Orlando can go overboard sometimes and need to control his temper but I'm not going to admit that to her.
"I know that Orlando need some anger management but he's just looking out for me" I explained reasonably. Jamie just scoffed like that was ridiculous reason.
"There's looking out for someone and there's obsessive controlling" she retorted.
"Personally I think he should be locked up in a asylum cause he's a lunatic and get his head examined" she added plainly. That's when I lost it. Without thinking, I shot up off the chair and dragged her over the table and slammed her onto the floor and punched her in the face.
"Ruby no" Robin yelled and tried pulling me off Jamie.
"Get her off me. She's crazy" Jamie screeched as she blocking my blows. That's when everyone in the cafeteria stopped what they were doing. Crowds starting to form around us but I didn't care about anyone else at that moment. My main focus was putting that b***h, Jamie in her place.
"You could say what you want about me but I won't tolerate anyone disrespecting one of my friends" I said viciously.
"Oh please, he doesn't deserve any respect. He treats people with trash. Is that a friend you want to hang around with?" She gritted out. Jamie was able to landed a punch I my face which made me tumbled off her. She got off from the floor and kicked my side of my body which made me groan in pain. She was about to kick me again when I caught her leg pulled it, making her land on her ass. That gave a chance to get up. I was about to attack Jamie when a pair of strong ams wrapped around me. I looked over to find that it was Marcus.
"What's going on here, cupcake?"
