Nerissa and Killian were once young and in love, but different dreams and ambitions separated them. While Killian left and became a successful entrepreneur in technological research and development, Nerissa's plans took a dramatic turn shortly after his departure.
By a twist of fate, they are reunited when Killian returns to town. They spend more time with each other, reconnecting over the lost years apart. Burt Nerissa has a secret, one she's never told Killian and one she fears he will blame himself for, as well as treat her differently.
Matters aren't helped when Killian's superstitious grandmother puts a wrench in the works, insisting Nerissa is for Cyrus, Killian's deceased brother and that he can only rest if she is by his side.
What is at first dismissed as the crazy ramblings of a senile woman by the pair, soon begins to take a more sinister edge. It seems the spirit of Cyrus is very much real and determined to drag Nerissa to the Netherworld to be with him.
