Stuck between a rock and a hard place, struggling artist Ann Marie invests her last little paycheck on an exhibition space hoping to sell her most prized painting that will earn her enough to settle her aunt's overwhelming hospital bills, her debts and keep her life going for a while. It turns into a bad investment quickly when the biggest art collector and prospective buyer suddenly leaves the exhibition without even looking at her piece. Aware that she can simply not fail at this, she takes drastic measures, hell bent on making her sale or die trying.
 
With his world darkening and his worst fears coming to pass, partially blind billionaire and art collector Alexander Harris turns into a beast when an artist blocks his way of escape from an exhibition and the world he doesn’t want knowing about his flaw. Aware of the many cameras ready to document his meltdown however, he composes himself and instead asks the artist to exhibit their painting…by describing it to him. It’s a challenge he expects them to fail at, giving him a chance to be on his way. But when she paints his darkening world with the most beautiful picture that eases his fears, he does the unthinkable…he offers to buy her current and future paintings, if she’ll marry him for only a year.
 
After her very regrettable track record with men and her vow to forever keep away from the species, marrying one of them, a stranger for that matter, is something Ann Marie should not be doing. But with her life about to cave in under the pressure of needs, the offer is too irresistible to turn down and she knows she would never get a better deal in her entire career.
