“Is this the part where you say you’d die for me?” I ask, looking intently at her, waiting for her response. She shakes her head and I feel relief flood my system. The last thing I want is this wonderful creature dying for me.
“Death is easy. It's brief and over in an instant, but living? Living is hard and living for eternity is even harder,” she says as she gets up and comes to stand in front of me, “So no, I won't die for you… I'd live for you.” Her eyes look up at me with such clarity and devotion and I feel myself getting lost in them as I stare at her at a loss for words.
