“Steph…. Steph… stop… you will kill them… Steph… Steph…”, I was holding her in my embrace and trying to drag her away from those molesters who, few minutes before tried to r**e me but now on the mercy of Stephany.
“I will kill them… how dare they touch you??..... how dare they??”, Steph was still kicking the unconscious body one of them. There was hatred, anger and … and… hurt in her voice. Why was she hurt? I was not her friend. Still, she saved me with all her effort and was hurt.

Suddenly, she hugged me tightly. I embraced her back. It was all I needed right now. She was sobbing. I didn’t know what has made her so weak to cry. I never saw her crying before. Suddenly I heard something.
“Mom”, all she said between her sobs and I froze.
I felt a pain in my chest at the thought which crossed my mind after that single word I heard.
