The brunch ended, and the brisk afternoon made its way into the day. Aleks showed up a while after I had sent Mandi screaming and cursing from the party. She just kept pushing, and pushing, and taunting poor Nola. Then she continued prodding me about Aleks, and tried to get a rise out of me, so I shot back at her.
