When Maggie decided to go to the hospital, the difficult-to-mention but fear-inducing condition had already been troubling her for months. Taking leave was relatively smooth; her boss, seeing her hesitant and downcast, likely understood it was a personal issue for a woman and didn't ask too many questions. Maggie, with a gloomy face, packed her bag and expressionlessly left the office, heading downstairs. As she was about to turn the corner in the hallway, she encountered Jasmine, the group’s vice president, walking with her secretary. Although Maggie usually avoided interactions with higher-ups, she couldn’t pretend not to see them as they approached. So, she took off her sunglasses and forced a cheerful smile.
