Chloe is a 26-year-old grade 2 teacher, and mom of two, who is trying to build a new life now that her husband and high school sweetheart has passed away from a sudden heart attack. She feels lost navigating a world without her husband, who was her best friend, in it.
Her deceased husband had an opportunity to play professional hockey straight out of high school but gave up his dream to run his family farm after his father died suddenly in an accident. For years he had quenched his passion to play by buying season tickets to their local pro hockey team games. After Kyle passed away, Chloe had given up her husband\'s season tickets, because it was too painful to be around hockey since it reminded her so much of Kyle. But now that her son Dax who is seven years old has fallen in love with the game, she decides to put her feelings aside to show her son a bit of his father\'s past, and the passion that he had to give up.
While attending an NHL game, Chloe meets Ryan, a professional hockey player who takes an interest in Chloe when she brings her son Dax onto the ice during an intermission kid\'s shooting contest.
While Chloe can\'t deny Ryan\'s ruggedly handsome looks and charming demeanor, she is quick to shut down any possibility of anything happening between the two of them. She feels she needs to protect her heart, and focus on her kids, putting her love life aside to make sure that her kids have the best childhood possible since their father is no longer there to be a part of it.
With a few chance encounters, and steamy interactions, Ryan works on breaking down Chloe\'s icy demeanor in order to win over her and her children\'s hearts.
