Elise Pendal is a beautiful, charismatic and often times clumsy witch from the magic council. Her life changes when she is instated as a sandwomen and then she meets Ayden Reed, a mysterious, brooding man who has a passion for reaping souls.
Elise takes an instant disliking to Ayden and the domineering and impatient ways he learnt during his years in the underworld.
However when a death hound tries to hunt Elise, Ayden springs to the rescue. Elise begins to notice that Ayden is actually sweet at heart.
But, the pressures of Aydens job as a reaper leaves him blind to Elises affections and Elise takes up her job of being a sandwomen seriously to distract herself.
Finally, when the arrogant King of the underworld, Death, threatens to come between them, Ayden has to act fast. But will they ever find the passionate love that they deserve?
