A cacophony of thirty-two teenage voices annoyed Heather as she sat waiting for the bell to ring. It was the start of the week. The start of the day. Homeroom in the morning. Everyone seemed to be filled with energy, talking and smiling, laughing at crude jokes and gossiping, while she felt like she had grit in her eyes.
