*STORY DESCRIPTION: "WHEN THE HEART DEFIES THE ANCESTORS"* *1. SETTING* Mbakor village, Benue State, Tiv land. Red earth roads that turn to mud when it rains. Compound houses with zinc roofs and mud walls. Mango trees that give shade in the afternoon heat. The smell of wood smoke, pounded yam, and fresh earth after rain. Here, tradition is not written in books. It is spoken by elders, lived by families, and guarded by ancestors. In this place, what the community says is law.*2. PREMISE*University student Akume Tyover returns home for holiday with his girlfriend Secivir, expecting a peaceful visit and family introductions. Instead, he meets Doosughun — his father’s sister-in-law — who is visiting for two days. From the moment their eyes meet, an impossible love is born. A love that violates Tiv tradition, breaks family bonds, and ignites war in the compound. Against the judgment of family, culture, and an angry ex-girlfriend, Akume and Doosughun choose each other. What follows is a battle for love, dignity, and the right to choose.*3. MAIN CHARACTERS**AKUME TYOVER, 24* The first son of Tyover. Tall, thoughtful, and respected. That their hearts have chosen, and to force them apart is to kill them. Doosughun speaks too, voice shaking but clear. She accepts shame, but not lies. The elders are divided.
