My eyes rapidly blink at him.
“WHAT!” I shout after almost a long minute of silence as I tried to process what he had just asked.
People around us look at us but he stays calm.
“I want you to be my girlfriend.” He says.
I am about to cry. My nerves have spiked and I really feel like crying.
(What is he saying!)
“But... don’t you have a girlfriend already?”
“What? What girlfriend?” His eyebrows come together in confusion.
“I don’t know. That girl you sometimes hang with. The one with black hair and a punk style.”
“Cadance?” He asks. “That’s my sister's friend.”
“I don’t know? I don’t know her name.”
“Cadance is not my girlfriend... she just... wants to be.” He says.
(Oh... so he is single.)
“It’s not her I want.” He says and gives me an intense stare.
He is killing me here. My heart is going a hundred miles an hour right now.
“Dakota.” He says waiting for an answer.
I shake my head now agitated. “Why?” I ask.
“Because... I want you.”
(AAAHHH!! What is he saying!!)
This is the bad boy of campus. The guy people are terrified of just by hearing his name. With just one look at the way he looks, even people that don’t know him run away. So why does he want me, a nerdy nobody who looks like a plain Jane?
“But why!?” I ask again.
“I just told you... because I want you.” He says.
“I know what you said but why... why do you want me?”
“Because...” He leans in. “... you are mine.”
(… he... is crazy, isn’t he?)
