When she was a child, Darius Corvere – her father – was accused of insurrection against the Republic of Itreya. Mia was present when the executioner pulled the lever, saw her father's face turning purple and his feet dancing for the ground, while the citizens of Godsgrave shouted "traitor, traitor, traitor"...
On the same day, she saw her mother and the younger brother being imprisoned in the name of Aa, the God of Light. And although the three suns of that land do not allow it to fully fall into darkness, a darkness worthy of darkness took hold of the girl. The shadows never left her.

Something had followed her from that place. The place above the music where her father died. Something hungry. A blind, grub consciousness, dreaming of shoulders crowned with translucent wings. And she, who would gift them.
