The courtyard stayed silent after my words. Hundreds of dragon eyes stared up at me. No one moved. No one spoke. The wind that usually moved through the high towers felt like it had stopped completely.
I kept my back straight even though my heart was slamming hard against my ribs. My hands stayed on the balcon……
