Elise believed her husband Joaquin truly loved her because Joaquin accepted their arranged marriage and married Elise. Joaquin showered Elise with love, and she felt contented with all of Joaquin's love for her because she genuinely loved him also. Elise was happy with her life because she had a caring husband and lovely sister. Even if Elisa was adopted, Elise learned how to love her sister dearly. That's why after Elise married Joaquin, she let Elisa stay and live with them.

But then Elise's life collapsed after discovering that her husband Joaquin and her adopted sister Elisa were cheating on her behind her back. They're having a secret love affair, and their true colors are revealed when she found out their secrets in their family townhouse.

Joaquin and Elisa did their best to get rid of Elise. Elisa and Elise fought that day, and when Elisa pushed Elise harder on the stairs, Elise's head hit the floor, making her head bleed and make her unconscious. So, when Elise was finally unconscious, they immediately tried to set the townhouse on fire and hoped that would kill Elise.

So, when the townhouse was burned after Joaquin returned and tried to check if Elise's body was still inside the townhouse. When Elise got her consciousness, she saw Joaquin carrying her. But because her body was hurting all over, she couldn't move.

And she was late to realize that her husband Joaquin had tried to murder her when Joaquin suddenly threw her into the river. When Elise's body was slowly drowning in the river, she only realized what was happening to her. She suddenly realized that she was going to die, and that's when she cried all of the pain she felt.

She felt betrayed, and her anger was building inside her chest. And because she couldn't move her body that was aching, she only wished that someone would save her so she won't be dead after getting her revenge on her ex-husband and her adopted sister Elisa.
