A former mining town, Middletown has grown leaps and bounds since then, but many spirits haunt the city as the lands had once been occupied by a Native population who had come into conflict with the mining operations. Eventually peace had come and the region was split between the two groups. Many descendants of that original Native population still exist in the mountains. All in all the city sees little change as businesses come and go: locals often resisting change.

After a big storm hits the city: the river floods, causing it to shut down the bridge out of the city and closing down as emergency services struggle to reach those in need.

Overnight the city streets are flooded. Searching for a friend, Jon comes across violent rioters. Spirits haunt the isolated city, sometimes helping, sometimes not. These zombie are not the mindless corpses of popular media.
