Prologue — The Game
They said every person had a weakness.
Some people were weak for money.
Some for power.
Some for love.
But Serena Vale?
She had no weakness.
At least, that was what everyone believed.
The girl who never cried.
The girl who never begged.
The girl who looked at the world like she had already survived the worst thing it could do to her.
People feared what they couldn't understand.
And Serena Vale was a mystery.
A beautiful, dangerous mystery.
But every mystery had a secret.
And hers was about to be uncovered.
“Make her fall for you.”
The words echoed inside the empty room.
Adrian Cross leaned against the table, staring at the three people in front of him.
He should have laughed.
He should have walked away.
But he didn’t.
Because Adrian never refused a challenge.
Especially when winning was easy.
“Kyla, are you serious?”
The girl smiled.
“Why? Are you scared?”
Scared.
That word annoyed him.
Adrian Cross was many things.
Arrogant.
Careless.
A liar.
But never scared.
He glanced at the picture on the table.
Serena Vale.
The genius.
The ice queen.
The girl who ignored everyone.
“Thirty days,” Kyla said.
“Make her trust you.”
Lucas smirked.
“Make her believe you’re different.”
Zayn laughed.
“Then destroy her.”
Silence filled the room.
A normal person would have questioned it.
A normal person would have realized how cruel it was.
But Adrian wasn’t normal.
He was used to games.
He was used to pretending.
So he smiled.
“Deal.”
He didn’t know her silence was protecting a broken heart.
He didn’t know her coldness was a scar.
He didn’t know the girl he planned to destroy…
Would become the only person who could destroy him.
Because Adrian Cross entered Serena Vale’s life with a lie.
A beautiful lie.
A perfect lie.
A lie she almost believed.
And the worst part?
So did he.
Some games are meant to be won.
Some games are meant to destroy you.
This one was meant to ruin them both.

Prologue — The First Lie
Everyone had a story about Serena Vale.
Some said she was arrogant.
Some said she was heartless.
Some said she thought she was better than everyone else.
But nobody knew the truth.
Because Serena had learned one thing:
The more people knew about you…
The easier it was for them to hurt you.
So she stayed quiet.
She stayed distant.
She stayed untouchable.
Until one night, someone decided to change that.
“Her?”
Adrian Cross stared at the girl sitting alone in the picture.
The girl with the cold eyes.
The girl who looked like she didn’t need anyone.
Kyla smiled.
“Yes. Her.”
Adrian laughed softly.
“You’re telling me she’s the challenge?”
“She is.”
He looked at the picture again.
Interesting.
Most people wanted attention.
But Serena Vale looked like she wanted to disappear.
“That’s impossible,” Adrian said.
Kyla tilted her head.
“Why?”
A slow smile appeared on his face.
“Because everyone wants something.”
The room became quiet.
Then Kyla placed the envelope in front of him.
“Find out what she wants.”
Adrian looked at it.
Then at the picture.
And for the first time…
He hesitated.
Only for a second.
But he did.
The next morning, Serena Vale walked into school like she always did.
Alone.
Unbothered.
Until someone stepped in front of her.
A person she never expected.
“Hi, Serena.”
She looked up.
Adrian Cross.
The boy everyone liked.
The boy everyone trusted.
The boy who never noticed her before.
Her eyes narrowed.
“What do you want?”
Adrian smiled.
“Maybe I just want to talk.”
Serena studied him.
Like she was trying to find the hidden reason behind his words.
And that was the problem.
She was too observant.
Too smart.
Too difficult.
Because Adrian Cross was good at lying.
But Serena Vale?
She was good at finding the truth.
He thought she would be easy.
She thought he was dangerous.
They were both wrong.
Because the biggest mistake they made…
was underestimating each other.
To be continued.
