"Emily!" I turn on reflex at the sound of my name I am met with the deep chocolate eyes of Eli, "is everything okay?" I ask, I need to try to stop living in my head, I am so unaware of everything and everyone...

"Emily! are you listening to me?" Eli snaps his fingers in front of my face as he asks his question, everything feels like slow motion, everything and I catch his eyes as he walks past, hazel eyes, strong eyes... when time returns and Eli still stands in front me, waiting and tapping his foot. I realize I'm a bad friend and an i***t!

"I'm sorry Eli, I don't know what's up with me, I'm just kind of swamped and distracted by everything." He sighs and puts his arm around me and pulls me closer, "best friends are supposed to make you feel better, what kind of a friend am I if I don't!"

Emily Greene, a girl who has everything except for an attention span or so it seems, uncovers something dark when pursuing a new boy.
