“NO! Damian. YOU don’t understand!” I shout. I stopped counting how many times we’ve been over this. “I can’t go back! Simon will kill me if I do!”
“No, Flare. I’m afraid it’s you who don’t understand. I want to meet your family. I want to see them for myself, and we are going.” Damian closes the gap between us and pulls me into his arms. I instantly relax and the anger just disappears.
“You are mine now. Nobody is ever going to hurt you again. I won’t let them.” He kisses my forehead and I’m reminded how much he has already changed my life. My new life that is.
