Five years after they first met at an orientation camp during NYSC, Oge and Okey decides to marry and settle down. However, they face an uphill task, searching and finding an appropriate apartment for a young and new couple in the vast city of Lagos. After searching endlessly for six months, they finally found a two bedroom flat they loved at the Ilupeju axis of Lagos and opted to take up the flat. Without running background checks they went ahead and paid; unfortunately they were defrauded of half a million naira by the landlord, who recycled and used the flat to defraud unsuspecting prospective tenants.
Helpless and broke, they shifted their white wedding ceremony to a later date when they could find money to pay for a new flat.  On the second attempt, their properties were thrown out after moving in, just a day after their white wedding, because the flat was sublet to them by a third party, because she did not present  them to the Landlord. On a day Okey and Oge were supposed to be relishing their honeymoon, they were once again homeless, fighting two battles all at once.
In a bid to recover their money, they took their case to the police through a lawyer, sadly, the police demanded money to transfer the case, because the crime did not take place within the jurisdiction they had brought the case. After paying the transfer money, the police demanded more money – mobilisation fee this time.
Frustrated and losing fate in the police, the couple petitioned the controversial Nigeria anti-crime agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  For the next seven years, they wait on a long battle to find justice from the law. Unfortunately, the law has short arms, and criminals know.
