Love Unconditionally
To love unconditionally is a dream shared by every hopeless romantic—a love so intense that, with only a single glance, the heartbeat seems to stop.
But when a heart is vulnerable, love can become an obsession. The person standing before you can make you forget everything you once believed, until you find yourself willing to risk almost anything just to hold on to them.
“I’m not ready to start a new relationship yet. We’re just friends,” Zhe said.
Irene stared at him, her heart sinking as tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.
“It’s humiliating that I can’t understand your reaction. I thought you wanted to start everything over with me. And not every girl is the same!”
They had both been broken before. They had both carried the scars of a relationship that had fallen apart. Yet, somewhere between the pain of their past and the possibility of a new beginning, Irene begins to wonder whether love truly disappears—or whether people simply become too afraid to admit that they are ready to love again.
Perhaps a broken heart is not the end of love. Perhaps it is only the mind that refuses to let go.
In the right state of mind, Irene wants to fall in love again. She wants to believe that two people who have been hurt can still find their way back to each other—that the past does not have to determine the future.
But Zhe is still hiding behind the word friends.
Are they truly not ready to love again, or are they simply afraid to admit what their hearts already know?
As old wounds reopen and buried feelings begin to surface, Irene and Zhe must decide whether to remain prisoners of their past or take a chance on the love they once thought they had lost.
Will they find their way back to each other—or continue pretending that their hearts are not ready to love again?
