“Oh gosh, Hunter, more…” Cassandra moaned as Hunter slid his tongue inside her p***y.
“You’re really sweet, Cassandra,” Hunter murmured, his voice low and rough with restraint.
She couldn’t help tangling her fingers in his soft hair, holding on as pleasure bloomed through her whole body. Everything about him—his patience, his control—made her want him more.
“Hunter…” she whispered, lifting his face so she could see his eyes. Her gaze was full of love and hunger all at once. “Please. I want you… I want all of you.”
He swallowed, jaw tightening. “I can’t… I won’t,” he said, forcing the words out like they hurt. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
Instead of cooling her desire, his hesitation only fed it. His gentleness—his constant awareness of what he was and what she was—was one of the reasons she loved him… the man, or rather, the vampire in front of her.
Cassandra leaned closer, her lips barely brushing his. “I trust you.”
Hunter finally pulled back just enough to speak, his forehead resting against hers as if he needed the contact to stay steady.
“Marking you was enough; I won’t claim you,” he whispered. “Not until you become one of us… a vampire.”
