Fresh off a betrayal by a cheating ex, Mae has entirely sworn off romance. Furthermore, she carries the deep psychological scars of a childhood dictated by an abusive, overbearing father—traumas that have driven her to build impenetrable emotional walls.

​The fuse is lit when Mae’s older brother, Dew—who doubles as Sam’s closest friend from college—introduces the two women.
